In 2022, Riva has several anniversaries to celebrate, including Carlo Riva's 100th birthday and the 60th anniversary of the Aquarama. When Carlo's great-grandfather - Pietro Riva - began repairing fishing boats on the shores of Lake Como in 1842, he could not have imagined that 180 years later the Riva brand would be so famous worldwide.
In advance of the anniversary year, the MBL Lake Como International Museum for Vintage Boats has opened a 300m2 permanent exhibition dedicated to the most iconic Riva motorboats built. Highly recommended!
In the space of the MBL, designed by architect Paolo Albano in collaboration with Riva, seven classic Riva cars take visitors on a time-travel journey from the 1930s to the time of "La Dolce Vita," when the world could experience the unmistakable lines of the Aquarama and Italian pleasure yacht design in particular. It is a tribute to Serafino Riva, famous for his super-fast racing boats and to his son Carlo Riva who built the Riva brand into an international symbol and a sought-after object coveted by many a movie star, aristocrat and sports champion.
2022 will be a great year for Riva. We look forward to any anniversary edition!
